Implicit Bias Brochure for PA Courts

I worked with Margaret Ogden and the Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial and Ethnic Fairness to create a brochure that court officials and staff will receive to help them understand and combat issues of bias and implicit bias in the PA Courts. Designed by Andrea Pekelnicky. Read the whole thing.

In addition, we created a print piece for an implicit bias/Commission event hosted in Philadelphia in March 2019. The piece highlights the commission’s work over the last 15 years. Read that here.

Closing The Excellence Gap with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

One project in particular for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation that I worked on in partnership with our lead strategist led me to research the gap that exists in opportunity for low-income, high achieving learners. From this, we created excellencegap.org, which translated heavy jargon-loaded research into sizeable, organized, and digestible pieces. The site contains an “ages and stages” portal that describes why this gap is so important, why it happens, and what can be done about it. My role was to aid in this research and content development, as well as provide final copy and grammar edits.

Here are a few screengrabs from the Early Grades segment:

William Woods Yield Brochure

Wanted to keep this light and tight. To let imagery and poetry give a final send off.

There is one place …

where the wonders of thought are revealed in silence
where the miracles of nature are given a home
where inquiry and creativity collide and create fire.

There is one place that takes you on a journey to see the world
while you simultaneously discover your own
where victories big and small are a daily affair
where a small, tight-knit community
supports each other in a number of ways
and that place is William Woods University.

My work on this website project:

  • Information Architecture: transforming what was over a thousand pages into a clean, clear and controlled website.
  • Process: Worked with Lerner’s creative team to develop a timeline complete with a migration map and content calendar — basically an overall game plan for the entire website overhaul. Worked on the implementation team and formatted content in HTML within the Content Management System, including taking various elements into consideration.
  • Writer and Editor

Other projects with Lerner:

  • Graduate Brochure
  • Blogging and Infographics
